Great nite in the Highlander last nite....after the game that is......bloody crapping ourselves during it...the Highlander..or sports castle as it is now in playa del ingles is due to be sold on the 1st of june now...( where have we heard that before)..but it is still showing all the Rangers games and will continue to due so under the new owner....so there is still a haven in playa for gers fans.

Oh well...here we go again...Walter says he thought the referee generaly did a good job.....What bleedin game was we watching here then..obviously not the one he.s talking about....the tic,s showed their true form as a bunch of clawing ,fouling scum yesterday and the referee and other officials pandered along with the baying mob of a support (sic)...Stevie wonder in a coma could see whats happening in the spl regarding septic...they have certainly saved a few bob on toilet paper this year...too many tongues jammed up their asses have done the job well. When Rangers lift the trophy despite the knives in their backs...that will be justice.....not the crap we endured yesterday.

dont know what planet I am living on lately.....listened to the Rangers ..Partick commentary in the bar....(Thanks again Rangers for not streaming the game at least...We are all used to your policy of if you go on holiday...you dont get any coverage...while the celtic game was once again available on multiple sat channels and radio Scotland using the sky platform...so we had to wait until the tics had finished to hear the 2nd half commentary) Then after the game was celebrating being in the final ..until someone burst my bubble and pointed out it was a quarter final game.........bugger. I was interested to hear the green and grey army chanting..bring on the Rangers at fir park (or ploughed field in English)They have seen us twice this season and unless Monklands district council have invented a post stress loan when Rangers win...Why do they want to see us again....Alex.

thats the puter working again.....we have had the phone line turned off again for a few days due to a 6 euro bill not been paid....dont ask..I dont know either...the whole of puerto rico and playa is like a ghost town...but not as interesting. good news for the Highlander in puerto rico tho..is we are commencing texas holdem tourneys twice a week starting the 2nd of may...4 tables are being constructed..more news nearer the time. The bar in playa has stopped the poker for the forseeable future..but the bookies is still going fine. Well I,m off to lose a few shekels on the national and hopefully will be celebrating tommorrow after the Arabs game.......Alex.

Great crowd and atmoshere in the bar last nite...the gers were superb..........roll on next thursday. Helens birthday tommorow 8th march and Alisons coming over for a week then we are all going back for the final on the 16th. and take a couple of weeks break before we get back in time for the old firm game. ( the first in the new Highlander).....still have not finalised the sale of the playa bar...sod it.....and am still waiting for the new Highlander project to be stamped so we can build the new toilets and finish off the decor....Alex.

latest news..and this will be repeated with each update.....A certain customer who came on holiday from Coatbridge who drinks in the Segton bar videoed Helen on the karaoke.....she was not even drunk. The video is very dark but the sound track says it all. He put it on youtube. search youtube with.... highlander bar puerto rico... and hear Helens version of nancy sinatras song ..these boots. Helen is doing her nut about it..its being bebo,d every where. good result against Aberdeen ..Arianna and Helen both had a nice win on the bookie with correct score bets....poor sods who flew with seguro from Prestwick had a 12 hour delay and were knackered for the day...those who have only booked a weeks holiday dont have much left already.

I dont believe it......The people taking over the Highlander playa...just didnt turn up for the lease signings....received a message that they may be here early march now....bloody charming...so everything is up in the air again...looks like I wont make the werder matches now...sod it.....anyone want to buy a bar lease.............

Busy nite for the uefa match.....if the greeks had three goalmouths at their end we still wouldnt have scored. I hope Walter has something better to offer for all the supporters that are going to greece..not me due to the playa fiasco.I have had alot of mail from people seeking jobs....this island will be dead now till about july..so the chance of anyone seeking staff is slim to no chance at best...the only way to look for work is to have a 2 week holiday and check out accomodation first...its not cheap...then to go round the bars etc and see whats appening...puerto rico has more chance of work than playa.......Alex.

a half decent crowd turned up to watch the Falkirk game half and half tourists and locals...no one was impressed..but 3 points is just that..As soon as the game finished there was a mas exodus from the bar and the rest who were left played pool or darts. This time of year is so exciting.......still sorting out the sale of the playa bar ..should complete on or about the 18th this month. then the forum will up and running also more and regular updates on the pics section. I am missing the next 2 uefa games due to getting things finalised here....Alex. ps....lucky a mate tipped me off yesterday.....12th feb marks 31 years of wedded bliss to Helen...I am so happy...I forgot.....Alex again.

Absolutely sod all to comment on ..........things are very quiet as is usuall this time of year.the Fusion bar in Arguineguin had their xmas staff outing last nite in the Highlander...yep thats gran canaria for you...xmas in feb. I have got a mad sod of a friend from Dublin over on holiday with his equally mad missus at this moment so I am suitably half ratted while typing this at 10.39 am. Anyone want a laff...go to youtube and look up spike milligan..then select..the first oirish rocket to the moon.......right..am now going to attempt to wake up my equally half ratted missus..Helen..and do some work.....yeah right. .............Alex.

Really busy turnout last nite considering the time of year...Good result albeit not without some luck. Still waiting to finalize the playa bar sale so am now entering another month where I have the 2 bars to deal with...bugger.when the playa bar has gone I will then be able to get on with finishing the new bar in puerto Rico. Have had 3 days of having the p##s taken out of me cos I brought back 2 tournament dart boards and a tourny rubber mat for the bar and had then fitted...immediately we had 4 clients who wanted to play then Nicola behind the bar asked for the darts.......yep you got it...I hadnt bought any........pillock. am going out later today to try and find where to buy proper darts..bloody near las palmas I have been told.I wish so many locals didnt have my phone no....keep getting calls nite and day asking if they could play darts....har de har.

not alot to write about today ( 10 jan) The norn iron page has finally been uploaded and I am now waiting on the forum page to be activated. The new Highlander is going very well and figures are up quite alot on last year...bloody should be....so.s the rent. Soon as it quietens down (feb) we are adding extra toilets as I severely underestimated the busy days needs. (just what we needed...more expendature...as I have just been told the fences and gates of our house in Scotland have been blown away in the winds.) ok will post any thing interesting soon as...Alex.

Here we are...03 jan...10.46 am and I am Stone cold sober...yep...its amazing what 15 hours sleep does. The nite of the 31st was a blinder ..the new Highlander was packed and because of the extra size it turned into the best new year we have had...the web master should be picking up the camera today to download the pics I,ve not seen them yet as my daughter Arianna has hidden the camera containing some incriminating pics of me spark out on the floor at 5.30 am.( charming) The new Highlander is turning out to be the best move we could have made and although the original has some great memories and good times..all our regular visitors have expressed a real liking for the new bar. The sale of the Highlander in playa will be completed at the end of January....but the new owner has promised the daytime trade..bookies...gers matches etc will stay the same so there is still a bar in playa to watch Rangers with other bears. On a finishing note sincere condolences to the O'Donnell family....Phil had a lot of friends inside and outside the football world and I know Barry's family were particularly close....From all of us at the Highlander.

Well its xmas eve and I am not long back after arriving at Glasgow airport to find the flight overbooked...so after a pre paid taxi to Newcastle airport courtesy of first choice and a half empty plane back...good for a kip...3 seats to me. I am back in the sunny climes. Typicaly Gers dropped the chance to put heavy pressure on Celtic and just scraped a point at Aberdeen..We had 3 games to get a point for the champions league and bottled it..we had 4 games to get a strong lead in the league and we are once again dropping points.....Jan 2nd is a major game in the title race......we ve got the team..but will Walter deliver the tactics. I.ll sign of with a merry xmas to everybody and if sober at any point from now till the new year I will do an update on this block.......CHEERS. Alex

Dec 18th .. and Alex is still stuck in the frozen North (Holland this time). He will be back on Saturday, so our final Norn Iron page has been delayed yet again .... Good news however for all our friends who stay in Playa del Ingles. The Highlander in Playa (Sports Castle Playa) has now gone under the wing of Party Cafe T,plein in the Gran Chapparal. All Rangers matches and the full range of betting, games, and live sports will continue to be available at the sports castle in Playa del Ingles throughout this coming holiday period, and into the foreseeable future. ....

Its now Monday 3rd Dec. Forgot I fly back to Glasgow for a few days today..back Sunday...so the new Norn Iron page will be delayed till I get back...thanks to those who donated some nice pics...any others who have some to send please do so this week.

Jesus Wept///What a bloody hangover I ve got......Since last Friday We have been over run with NORN IRON supporters from opening to closing non stop and every one of them seemed to find money embarrasing and wanted to get rid of it quickly.....I hope they are all happy now as they wore out my till ( ahh shame) We will be adding a page dedicated to the supporters soon........I have been to many international games before......This was my first time seeing The GREEN AND WHITE ARMY in action. ABSOLUTELY BLOODY SUPERB......Myself and all the staff in both bars had a great time...Thanks to all involved...Alex.

The Norn Iron Game has been a stormer! Alex has been up till 4 and back agin cleaning up at 10 in the morning, so has not got anywhere near the computer all week. We are putting together a new page to commemorate such a great week and will publish many of the photos in the gallery soon! Look out for these additions next week

The New Highlander is OPEN! The bar is working, our new private terrace is in the sun and the TV's are all up on the wall. Alex is still very tied up with details so if you sent him an email he promises to reply soon!

RESULT.......Gers hold the mighty Barca to a draw....You Dancer. The new Highlander is now full of carpenters..lekkies and any other people who are holding their hands out...I am in the wrong trade. My highlite of the week on the site was Dirk,s missus from the London pride telling him he has been replaced and is surplus to requirements....shes hired a full time barmaid to do his job as he has been working for the last 3 weeks on the Highlander and not in his restaurant so he can bloody well stay here........that was 2 days ago and I,m still laughing....2nd nov still looking good.

IF YOU CANNY DO THE BOUNCY...ETC ETC....What a blinding day...also who didnt get to see the match.....ME...Was working on the new Highlander the whole day....liar...as soon as I heard the result downed tools with the pompey pykie and went on a 100 mph motorway jaunt to playa bar..its now 4.09 am and still buzzing. Thanks to Steve( Pompey pykie) and Dirk from the London pride bar in playa del Amadores who have put in some fierce hours to help get the new bar opened on time...2nd nov.

The closing date for the wee Highlander is Wednesday 17th October after the Scotland game..its a party nite. The new Highlander is still on track to open fri 2nd Nov. Its at the top end of the shopping Center past Winston Churchills restaurant.

Was working on the New Highlander site at 7.00 am yesterday (sat 6th) looking foreward to putting a few hours in then watching the game in the original highlander and a few bevvies.....Ended back in the house at 5.30 pm watching STILL GAME on DVD......Something worth watching...wish I had done it at 3.00pm.

Apologies for sod all updates this week...We are pushing to get the new Highlander open on time....2nd Nov. As usual gran canaria is typicaly manyana.....so I am out first thing and back late....bluttered...Well you have to get the cement dust out of your throat someway

Pompey Pikie Steve is kicking at the gates now waiting for the mapfre office to close we can start the building of the new Highlander...Thanks to all who made our trip back to Glasgow the bollox..anybody who sees Big Rab Mashall tell him hes a tight fisted sod for not comming over for a wee break.....extra leg room my ass...he could afford to charter a plane private..........

The Highlander bar had the patronage of Rangers legend Terry Hurlock and his family this week....The bar was bumping and everyone had a blinder....Great man and and top family...The perfect addition to rangers fantastic result on Wednesday.........

just got back from Scotland...the pompey pykie loved the trip the game and a sunday visit to Mr Singhs...cheers for the wine Sati and thanks for a great meal Mark. The opening date for the new highlander is still november 1st but we cannot start any proper work till the insurance firm vacate one of the units.
